Solitude, held in community.
The Community of Solitude is an ecumenical Benedictine community of solitaries who live and work in the world. We live in our own homes and circumstances, sharing a Rule, a common spiritual foundation, and companionship along the way. Our life brings together solitude and community, rootedness and personal mission.
A shared foundation for a life of contemplation.
Our common life is rooted in prayer, silence, solitude, study, and each member's particular mission. These commitments shape how we live our calling in the world.
Prayer
A life attentive to God in the ordinary.
Study
Learning through Scripture and contemplative wisdom.
Silence & Solitude
Space to listen, discern, and be renewed.
Personal Mission
Living your calling in the world.
A contemplative calling without leaving the world.
The Community of Solitude may speak to you if you feel drawn to a life of prayer, silence, and solitude, but also have work, family, and other responsibilities in the world. We offer a shared framework and spiritual companionship for living that calling.
